.”DEBATE TO IMPACT”
EMBRACE THE RHYTHM.
The music club is a booming sector in St. Aloysius. Initially, music as a subject was introduced in 2018 and driven to heights till date. Music is now not only a subject but also a hobby, talent, future carrier and stress reliever. Many of the students are exclusively gaining experience from the different instruments around, majorly the piano, recorders, violin, guitar and tube fiddles (endingiddi) as well as building their voices and composition ability.
Talking of music, many people think about singing and dancing but it goes beyond the eyes. Music is a special subject and like any of the rest, needs maximum attention and practice. In the new curriculum, music calls for a lot more than just singing. It calls for critical analysis, composition, team work and determination to cope up with the required.
To the school, the music club has brought light and vibe especially during occasions such as Christmas carols. It has also contributed to the increased popularity of the school through the new releases, (Omusomesa, Masaka, and Emmwaanyi). For the students, the club has helped them develop their talents through singing in choir, conducting and playing musical instruments in mass, which has benefitted the liturgy sector. Others have been able to unlock their dancing ability as they are now good at traditional and contemporary dances. It has built confidence in students as they can stand in front of crowds to perform. Being aspired by the great musicians; JS Bach, Mozart, etc. students are now able to write their own compositions, reducing dependence on other’s works. In the same way, some students are steadily developing to the upcoming musicians of the music industry as they receive platform and support from their fellow students. For the rest of the school, music is a stress reliever, source of entertainment and universal language.
We thank the administration for supporting the ideas and activities of the music club, not forgetting our own Fr. Andrew Kalema and Mr. Magembe Jackson for building the young talents of the music club in St. Aloysius SS Bwanda.
‘EMBRACING THE RHYTHM, ELEVATING VOICES’
“DISABILITY IS NOT INABILITY”
The Sign Language Club is like any other club that you have ever heard of in a school for example; Music Club. Here at St. Aloysius Girls Bwanda, we saw the need for our students to become active members of this club because sign language is demanding and really wanting national wide.
In Uganda today, there is an increase in the number of the deaf and the dumb children and communication is therefore becoming difficult because they are in a state of finding themselves in dilemma.
If you ever came to the mighty institution of St. Aloysius Bwanda, you might find it difficult on who to choose for any job concerning sign language because all the students are well conversant with all the areas in this language for example signing their names, days of the week, months of the year, greetings, family relatives among others. Therefore communication with our deaf brothers and sisters is simplified.
The president of this club is Rev. Sr. Maria Theresa Namuwulya and the patrons are Mr. Nahabwe Mayazi and Mr. Namanya Gift
This club enables the students to socialize with the disabled students especially the deaf pupils who are not very far away from our school. It also enables the students to acquire skills which also enable them socialize with the disabled people in the future.
When you join this mighty institution, expect to learn a lot and move out with many skills because the environment caters for all despite the disabilities.
Thanks to our dear head teacher who saw the need of her students to fully socialize with all the others in the environment and brought sr.Kengaju Josephine who comes every Sunday afternoon which is a very interesting moment to all the students since they are all eager to learn due to the love they have for the club.
