A number of movements have been started in the school to enable students join them as part of the holistic learning experience.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal also known as CCR is a movement of spiritual renewal and transformation and was founded on 19th May 1967 by Pope Paul XVI and Pope Paul IV in Vatican. It is now celebrating 57 years of existence worldwide. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal was introduced in Uganda in 1973 by Fr.Nobert Labonte in Mbarara. It is now celebrating 51 years of existence in Uganda.
Its motto is,”RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT” and of course it is a Spiritual Movement. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal was warmly welcomed in Uganda and the first national team of this movement was introduced in Kisubi in 1981 whereas Mr.Christopher Kamya organized the first LITRATE in GABA.
This movement was also authorized in schools and in Parishes. This caused many to believe that this movement was pioneered by the HOLY SPIRIT since all its works are based on invoking the Holy Spirit.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Our Lord appeared to Blessed Fausta as the Merciful Christ with brilliant red and pale ray that radiated out from His chest “Thered ray”. Said our Lord, “Represent the blood which is the life of the soul, while the pale ray symbolise the water which justifies the soul before the wrath of my father”.
THE FORM AND DEVOTION MADE BY MERCIFUL CHRIST TO BLESSED FAUSTINA CONSIST OF FOUR THINGS;
The veneration of the picture of the Merciful Christ with ejaculation, “JESUS I TRUST IN THEE”.
The institution of the feast of God’s Mercy, “MERCY SUNDAY”, which falls on the first Sunday after Easter Sunday.
The observance of a novena.
The recitation of the chaplet of mercy.
The chaplet recited with the aid of a rosary, is most efficacious in obtaining God’s Mercy.
We should recite the chaplet of Divine Mercy because God’s Mercy is forever.
When Jesus appeared to Blessed Faustina, He told her to paint his picture and write underneath, “JESUS I TRUST IN YOU”. Said Jesus, “Both these rays emerged from the deepness of my Mercy, when my heart was pierced by the spear. They protect the houses, even cities where the picture is venerated”.
Jesus continued, “Those who confess and take the Holy Communion on the Sunday of Mercy will not only obtain the absolution from their sins but also remission of the punishments which they deserved. This feast will be a comfort for the whole world”.
Divine Mercy is the heart of the Gospel. If we look at how God has revealed himself in scripture and church tradition, we discover afresh how Mercy is essential to understanding His message of love and salvation.
Divine Mercy is an extension of devotion to the Sacred Heart, the place where blood and water flowed out for the salvation of humanity, which in turns points us to the eternal loving Mercy of the Father.
Through Divine Mercy, our Lord is preparing us for His final coming (Jesus said that mankind will find no peace until he returns).

INTRODUCTION
Focolare Movement; officially known as the works of Mary was founded by Chiara Lubich in Trent, Northern Italy.
It was in 1994 that Chiara Lubich and her few companions attended the mass on the Feast of Christ the king, and at the end of the mass, she and her friends remained recollected and reflected on phrase they had heard during mass: from the book of Psalms; “Ask me and I shall give you all the peoples and lands of the earth.”(Ps 2, 8).
They asked God to help them put this phrase into action by saying to God, “You know how to bring about unity. Here we are, use us for an ideal as vast as unity.”
The movement was approved by the Catholic Church in 1962, and the current President is Margret Karram in the all world. Though it was born in the Catholic Church, this movement incudes people of all religions. Maria Polis (city of Mary) was first held in 1952 and 1953.
1.1 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To work cooperatively in order to build a more united world by following the inspiration of Jesus`s prayer to the Father, “may they all be one, “and we can confer this to the gospel of John 17:21.
In the same line of thought, the movement aims at respecting and valuing diversity that is to say, living in communion with other churches and with the charisma of unity.
1.2 ORGANISATION OF THE MOVEMENT
The center for the work of Mary includes the President, Co-president (chosen among the Priests),and the counsellors elected by the general assembly, and it has the responsibility of ensuring and increasing unity in the whole work of Mary but as written in the General statues, the President, will always be a woman.
1.3 STRUCTURE OF MOVEMENT
The others include, the Focolarini, volunteers, new families and the Genus, the priests, Bishops as well as the men and women in the Religious Life.
1.4 SPIRITUALITY OF THE MOVEMENT
Chiara Lubich`s spiritualty soon came to be known as a collective or communitarian spirituality, which focused on Jesus` prayer to the Father “that all might be one” (see John 17:21). This spirituality has 12 main points that are interconnected: God`s Love, God`s Will, the word, the neighbor and mutual love, Eucharist, the gift of unity as well as Jesus Forsaken, Mary, the Church-Communion, the Holy spirit, and lastly Jesus in the midst.
1.5 MEANS OF UNITY
Spiritually and Prayer, Living the Word, Dialogue, and the Catholic Church, particularly by fostering communion between Ecclesial movements and new communities, Christian Churches and the world Religions.
1.6 COLORS IN THE FOCALARE MOVEMENT
The leaders in the movement are recognized through colors in that color white recognizes the President, violet-secretary, red-treasurer, and other different colors that correspond to their duties.
1.7 ACTIVITIES IN THE MOVEMENT
Members of this Movement engage in various forms of dialogue and are committed to building bridges for fraternal relationship among different individuals between cultural groups, and in every area of society. This dialogue is always carried out in terms of gatherings for example meetings, Maria Polis and Genus School.
Persons of every age, vocation, religious conviction, and culture belong to the Focolare Movement and there are also small communities of men and women who have consecrated their lives to God with vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

PRESIDENT.
Legion of Mary is a Catholic association rooted under the powerful leadership, emulation and veneration of the one and only Queen of Virgins, The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ.
This movement was founded by Frank Duff, born in Dublin Ireland. Later on, he came to know St. Marie de Mont Fort who helped him to get devoted to Mary and completely changed his life.
He formed this legion with a purpose of spiritual growth of its members advancing the reign of Christ through Mother Mary.
At St. Aloysius Girls Secondary School, Bwanda, this is one of the most active movements with the largest number of devotees. Our presidium is called QUEEN OF VIRGINS. Our patroness is Sr. Angella Namatovu and our president is Nalunjogi Harriet. As legionaries, we form ourselves mainly for the service of the whole church at large through the intersession of Mother Mary.
In all this, we extend charity to our neighbors and this is done with profoundness and active participation of all members in the weekly allocated duties.
Our movement is characterized by prayer, specifically the Holy Rosary and daily recitation of the catena and this is done every evening at the grotto, under ecclesiastical guidance in Mary’s and the Church’s work of crushing the head of the serpent just like we see the portrait of our Blessed Mother.
As legionaries, we follow the following virtues; Humility, perfect obedience, continual prayer, spotless purity, heroic patience, universal mortification, courageous, passionate and contrite love of God.
May the guidance and protection of our Blessed Mother engulf you all as you sail through this journey to salvation.
This movement began in the country of Ireland started by a priest called Fr James CullenS.J in the year 1898.This priest saw all the evil and suffering being caused by excessive drinking in his own country and started the Pioneer Association to combat the evil.
WHAT IS BEHIND THE NAME OF THE P.T.A.A.?
We have said that the title ‘PIONEER’ was chosen because the movement was exploring for the first time a new way to do something about the problem of the abuse of alcohol. In general a PIONEER is someone who starts out on some new adventure or exploration or research. We speak, for example of the pioneer of pioneers of space travel or pioneer in some branch of medicine.
The words ‘TOTAL abstience’ describes the sacfrice members are invited to make. They are asked to give up completely the drinking of all alcoholic drink for life. These words will be further explained when we consider the rules in a later part of the article.
The words ‘of the sacred heart’ are the greatest importance in the name of the organization. These words distinguish Fr Cullen’s organization from the merely humanitarian movement and stress the spiritual aspect. The chief motivation of the pioneer must be GOD’S LOVE. God is invisible but St. Paul said that the love of God has been made visible in Christ.(ROM 8:28)
The heart is the symbol of love. So the pioneer turns to Christ believing that heart of Christ is filled with love and mercy for the suffering men and wants to help them and heal them.
THE AIM OF THE ASSOCIATION
MEANS USED TO ACHIEVE OBJECT.
THREE MAIN RULES
1 . To abstain for life from all alcoholic drink
3 .To wear publicly the badge of the association

“THY KINGDOM COME”
It was founded by Sr. Maria Margret of Alcoque on 20th December 1673 in France. She was visited by the sacred heart for 18months and she learnt how to worship in 1686 in a secret way and in the monastery of the sisters. In 1690, Sr. Margret died and Pope Benedict xv canonized her on 13th may 1920 in saintism.
Some of the pillars of the sacred heart movement include prayer, love, discipleship, sacrifice, getting communion among others. The sacred heart of Jesus promises that “I will give you all what you need in your daily lives.”
The sacred heart of Jesus movement is headed by tr. Nambiro Ireen and the president Nakakeeto Cissy. Due to the fact that we have a strong leadership, our movement mostly benefits the St. Aloysius community in a number of ways. We learnt to be beneficial to the society we live in the regular outings we always have at St. Thomas Major Seminary Katigondo where we associate with many students from various schools. This promotes the spirit of love and unity within ourselves and the environment we live in.
In our school we engage in voluntary activities such as cleaning the compound, loess, bathrooms and the rubbish pit. This encourages hard work among the members since everyone is involved. The movement also enables students to be spiritually nourished due the fact that we have regular meetings where prayer is the key. And through this many of the students have given testimonies on how the sacred heart has been a broad base for their change.
The presence of this movement in school is a supplement of the school values of relevance, integrity, tolerance, God fearing among others which nourish a student into a woman of substance since the school is a home of catholic values which are imparted through the different movements especially the sacred heart of Jesus.
In St. Aloysius SS Bwanda, the sacred heart of Jesus movement was embraced and it is actively molding the students in spiritual life which enables them to fight all temptations that come their way.
the movement has also created a sense of pride within the students because they are really in love with it that they are even soldiers of the heart of Jesus Christ and very ready to walk with him in their lives.
Indeed the sacred heart movement has portrayed the catholic values in the lives of every student in St. Aloysius girl’s Bwanda.
The movement of St. Jude is a devotion that begun many years ago as the popularity of St. Jude went on spreading worldwide. St. Jude Thaddeus was a son of Cleofas the brother of St. Joseph the earthly father of Jesus and Mary Cleofas who was a sister to Mother Mary. St. Jude Thaddeus was coming from the same lineage with Jesus. He was at first called Judas but because of the need to differentiate him from Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus and the need to express his good deeds, he was named Thaddeus which means praising, humility and love.
During his lifetime, he lived a prayerful and faithful life and God enabled him to perform many miracles for example he healed King Abagaro who was suffering from leprosy. He preached the word of God to different countries and also wrote the letter of St. Jude that is found in the Bible. He is mostly known as the apostle of hopeless cases. He intercedes for economic gains, good performance among others.
He was killed by the enemies of the church in Armenia in 1548 where he had travelled to preach the gospel and everyone who visits his tomb receives an indulgence. St. Jude was canonized in 1480. We annually celebrate the feast of St. Jude on the 28th of October. In the movement, we recite a daily prayer to Saint Jude and a novena every first Saturday in the months of March, July and October. Our patron is Mr. Namanya Gift and our president is Nalubega Kevin.
This movement was brought to our school in February 2024. We usually hold meetings on weekends where we are able to learn about the devotion to St. Jude Thaddeus. We are privileged to engage in different voluntary work in our school for instance cleaning the school compound, animating mass, helping the needy people in the communities around. Through our patron saint, we pray for the sick, the needy, our teachers, parents, studies and our school.
This devotion to St. Jude has helped the students to learn about St. Jude’s humility, prayerfulness, martyrdom, charity, compassion and the zeal to preach the word of God. St. Jude’s continuous intercession has enabled us to receive endless graces and blessings from God.

The pontifical society of St. Peter the apostle was founded by Stephanie Bigard and her daughter Jeanne Bigard during the French revolution in the 1780s. She was born to a rich family his father being a lawyer and the mother was a doctor in Caen, France. She had one brother meaning they had a nuclear family comprised of four members. During the French revolution in1789, his father and brother died and remained with her mother.
During the 1789 French revolution, his holiness pope pius xi
Requested and encouraged the youth to join in missionary societies and movements. Jeanne Bigard and her mother sold all their house hold and donated it to the church. In 1889, thy established a society of SPA. She got inspired by the religious life and had passion to become one because she was devoted to praying for religious vocations.
Jeanne Bigard and her mother decided to sell their entire household to raise funds for the training of local clergy and named it after saint peter the apostle. The Bigard travelled throughout France promoting the work of the society. In 1922, SPA was given the pope Patronage who was Saint Peter the Apostle.
The society is now established in 157 countries. It has supported 1,069 mission dioceses and has funded the training of around 20,000 seminarians in about 500 seminaries as well as 10,000 Novices.
For example SPA contributed to the renovation of ST, Augustine’s major seminary in Zambia in 2018 which serves the entire diocese in the country.
ABOUNT THE PATRON: the patron of SPA is also known as Simon Peter. He was one of the first apostles to be called by Jesus together with his brother Andrew. They were fishermen. As Jesus walked along the shores of Lake Galilee, he saw them. Simon called peter and his brother called Andrew. Jesus said to them’’ come with me and I will teach you to catch people’’ once they left their nets and followed him (Mathew 4:19-20).
St Peter the apostle was named peter by Jesus meaning rock. Peter is the rock on which the church still stands today. He was the leader of the 12 disciples. He is recognised as the first leader of the Roman Catholic Church as the unbroken succession of popes. He is also known as the first Bishop of Rome and the first Pope according to Roman Catholic tradition.
He died a Marty by being crucified in Rome around 67 or 69 AD under Emperor Nero. He is said to have been crucified upside down because he felt unworthy to be crucified in the same way as Jesus Christ.
Here in our school St Aloysius girls school Bwanda, it was started in 2015 by seminarian Patrick Katerega who was a student at Katigondo major Seminary with an aim of inspiring girls to become religious sisters, strengthen their faith and promote spiritual growth. The number of girls who join SPA in our school has increased compared to other movements and the movement has 79 enrolled members. We are really grateful to the Almighty God for this blessing and the school administration for allowing the existence of the movement in school.
In conclusion, SPA encourages the youth to pray for vocations, adults in parishes can also join the movement and support it financially hence supporting the seminarians and Noviciates. We encourage giving what you have because when you give you receive blessings from God. Let us pray for the religious and priests so that they may always enrich the word of God to the people despite the hardships they pass through.
The Young Christian Movement (YCS) was started by a young Belgian priest, Fr Joseph Cardjin in 1906.He introduced this movement to bring the Christians workers back to Christ who had been oppressed by the individuals who owned the factories, mills, and mines where they were working yet these individuals were members of the church hence making them hate the church and its leaders thinking that the church did not care about their plight.
Having started a flourishing movement for the workers, Fr Cardjin felt the need to do something for the students too. Fortunately, some students had already realised the need to come together as Christian students and do something for the betterment of the student’s world.
YCS is a school of life in which students learn to see, to judge, and to achieve the apostolic value of their life in all its aspects, all its details, the most humble and daily ones at home, in their District, in their village, in the school, at meals and at rest, in their leisure always and everywhere. it is an essentially active and acting school with its inquiries and its action which impact a social sense , a social spirit, a social conduct, and in a much more gripping way than any lessons which leave the listeners passive and inactive; a school which reveals to them the beauty of their humble life as students, which exalts them and achieves in the whole of their lives that indispensable unity which gives them, with a strength of conviction and character pride in their Christian, apostolic and radiating life; a school which transforms their life as student into a lay priesthood and a lay apostolate.
The Section leader is NANYONDO IREEN KEVIN and the patron is MR.SSEKALO FREDRICK HENRY
I conclude by saying SEE JUDGE ACT as our motto states.

BADGES AND FLAGS
The BADGE is triangular in shape, for the triangle is the basic form of African decorative art, on a black background is a “CHIRO” in silver, the symbol of Christian African.
The CHIRO does not mean pax peace. the letters which make it up are not P and X but two letters of the Greek alphabet “chi” X and “or” P.
They are the first two letters of the word CHRIST in Greek and so form Christ is monogram. The CHRIST is our Lord’ own sign . it is the emblem of him who leads us to victory of him who gives our strength . Jesus is the leaders of the movement.
The expensive form of the lateral branches f the X suggests, Christian diffusion , the radiance of the apostle who for form being self-centered, is all thing to all men :he plunge into mass of humanity to be a WITNESS to Christ , the leaven which will make it rise being always pre-occupied with the material and spiritual wellbeing of his comrades.
Finally the badge bears in flame coloured red (the color for charity ,fire apostolate , courage) the motto.CARITS(charity),motto of he movement and ideal held out to all its members the very basic of Christianity.
The TEAM FLAG is triangular in shape made of two colors (color of the team and white) with a CHIRO printed on it .
