Geography is popular subject at all levels of education. It begins with the question of “what?” and “where?” but do not stop at simple identification. We go further asking “why?” to better understand the relationship between elements of our physical and cultural surroundings.

Our department pursue diverse areas of research, including water quality and conservation, patterns of wildlife ecology, impact of transportation system on regional economies, landscape histories and analysis of landscape development.
Our students are encouraged to participate in the geographical-led research projects or develop their own line of inquiry.
What is exciting about geography today is that it is the first new lower secondary curriculum subject in Uganda to take seriously the need for critical and creative thinking about the future.
